Moustache Badges for Movember
Every year we support Movember here in the Kool Badges workshop. Whether that consists of Mr Koolbadges growing a massive 70s moustache or sponsoring all of our friends & family who become Mo-Bros for November, we really do try to get involved in this wonderful charity.
We donated a ton of our badges for them to give out & sell to friends to help their fundraising efforts. Some are even being auctioned off, it’s all great fun. We have loads of different moustache badges for you to choose from. They are perfect for fund-raising & great for the females in your life who perhaps can’t (or don’t fancy) growing a moustache 🙂
Halloween badges for a spooky October 31st
Halloween badges are some of our most popular products here at koolbadges. Every year we seem to make more & more Halloween badges for our regular customers. Many people don’t even think of badges when it comes to Halloween costume planning, but they are great to pin to school uniforms & work clothes. It is much easier to wear a badge on your shirt than to sit at your desk dressed as a ghost or zombie!
Halloween badges also make great trick or treat gifts. Hand them out to the children who knock at your door along with sweets & chocolate as an extra special treat.
Kool Badges has Relocated back to Cornwall
Long time customers & followers of Kool Badges may remember a few years ago we lived down in Cornwall & operated Kool Badges from our workshop on the mid cornwall coast. We where forced to move away for a number of personal reasons but we are now happy to announce that we have returned to the same village we lived in a few years ago. The village hasn’t changed much & they still do a lot of filming here (the village is Charlestown, Cornwall). Last time we lived here they filmed Dr Who & a few hollywood movies. This time it seems that Poldark fever has taken over. We saw them filming just last week.
It’s great to be back down in Cornwall. The chilled out vibe & friendly people are perfect for us. The weather is to die for & the food is amazing. It’s quite tedious living in a holiday hotspot during the summer months but this is more than made up for in the great places to eat & drink & the stunning scenery. Also it’s great in the winter when it’s only locals & everywhere looks also festive and romantic.
The Kool Badges workshop is back up & running with only a few days of downtime & we hope to bring you even better designs & service in 2016. We need your help though guys, so please do continue to share our badges with your friends & family & help spread the word. We cannot do this without you lovely people.

Small Business Saturday – December 6th 2014
I’m not sure how many people are aware in the UK that December 6th 2014 is Small Business Saturday. This trend started in the USA and is a way of promoting small businesses on the run up to christmas. Many of us aim to find the cheapest places to buy our gifts at this time of year as money is understandably tight, however these discounts are normally provided by massive corporations who have immense buying power. Independent retailers and small businesses cannot dream of competing on price, but they can offer a much more personal service & you can be safe in the knowledge that you are directly supporting the economy.
Also small businesses like ours really rely on your custom and we do everything we can to make your shopping experience & our hand made goods as personal as possible.
So on Small Business Saturday why not help a small business such as your local shop or farmers market, craft faire or independent online retailer and make a purchase. Even if you buy one of your gifts this year from an independent retailer it will help us all continue to exist & stop your high street looking like a carbon copy of every other high street.
We would love it if you bought some of our Hand Made badges. We are a small family run business & our company is only 2 people strong. We care about each and every order and we value each and every one of our wonderful customers. Some of you guys have only just found us while others have been coming back to us for years.

August button badges
August has been a crazy month over at Kool Badges Button Badges. Understandably one of the quietest months of the year due to the fact that everyone is away on holidays, we have been surprisingly busy. There is always something to do when you run a small business, from administration stuff to writing emails, sitting & making badges, coming up with new designs & maintaining all of our social media accounts. Between a couple of people there is always something to be done.
We have been receiving so many amazing custom orders this month. Some of your artwork is amazing & always makes for an interesting badge making day. We are also gearing up for the annual Kool Badges summer break. At that time we close the workshop for a whole week (which for anyone who knows us, either personally or as a customer will realise is a long time as we are nearly always working & available). We really enjoy being in the workshop & working with all of our wonderful customers but we really need a holiday this year. 2014 has been our busiest year to date and as a result we are in the process of moving to new premises. Hopefully we will also be able to bring a few more people on board to help out with the work load & grow Kool Badges even more. This will include bringing more things in house, improving our array of printing gear & introducing some new presses into our fleet of badge machines. Don’t worry though, our epic customer service won’t change, our aim to respond to most emails within 20 minutes will remain our top priority & we will continue to hand make all of our button badges right here in the UK with locally sourced parts. We will also ensure that everything we can re-use or recycle will be reused and recycled.
We will keep adding new designs to the website & keep you up to date with our next move. We will probably be relocating not only premises but the county we live & work in. We are looking for some new challenges & adventures and we are looking to some new parts of the UK to live & work in.

July badges
July has been a busy month for Kool Badges. We are in the process of relocating our premises so we have been running a 65p badge sale to help with the cost of moving. July and august are quiet months anyway as everyone is out in the sun enjoying themselves & generally putting the holidays to good use. We can’t complain, we are doing the same. We will be closed for a week in August for our annual Kool Badges break. We are heading to Europe & spending a week in Amsterdam. It’s one of our favourite cities & is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. We keep getting tempted back for another visit year after year.
We aren’t slowing down badge wise though, not for a second. While the workshop will be closed from the 20-27th August we will be working flat out either side of this to ensure you all receive your badge orders. The 65p badge sale is still on & many of you are using this opportunity to stock up on badges for all occasions. You wouldn’t believe how many people have already bought Halloween badges, Christmas badges and even Valentines day badges. Well prepared.
We have been making loads of custom badge orders this month. We absolutely love making custom badges. Some of them really make us laugh. Some times your designs are so good we are in complete awe. We attract some great artistic talent & we are very happy to supply you with your awesome badge designs. If you have a logo or design you should checkout our design your own page & upload it. If you are ordering a larger quantity it really brings down the price. Ideal for any business, club or individual wishing to promote themselves.

Cool Button Badges
People always ask us for cheap badges. It’s hard for us to do often as we are still a family run badge company, hand making all of your orders. Whenever we run a sale, it’s manic, and it takes us many extra days to process your orders. The last thing we would want is for people to spend ages waiting on their badges.
What’s more, quality badges can’t always be cheap. Many people online nowadays offer cheap badges, but their customer service & quality of the final product often reflect this price tag. We are committed to producing the highest quality badges at a great price. We always use local, professional print companies to print out all of our designs, this costs much more than printing them in house but guarantees an excellent print quality. It also keeps other local businesses busy. We buy all of our badge components and presses right here in the UK, which costs more than buying them in cheap from China, but it’s ethical & fits in perfectly with our ethos. In fact, we buy everything from web hosting to jiffy bags from independent UK businesses.
Tennis Badges & festival badges
It’s that time of year again, the sun is blazing and the world has gone tennis crazy. Wimbledon is underway in London and the eyes of the world are flitting between London & Brazil for the World Cup. We always get into the Tennis craze at this time of the year and given that Vicki is Scottish & I’m English we have plenty of fun debating if Andy Murray is British or Scottish 🙂
We sell loads of tennis badges at this time of year. They are great if you are having a Wimbledon party. They are also used lots by schools as Tennis takes over in PE during the warmer months. They are only 85p each so make great little gifts or party favours. Who can resist some cheap pin badges.
Also at this time of year we are bombarded with festival goers wanting badges to complete their outfit. Be it Glastonbury, T in the park, Download or one of the hundreds of other summer festivals, badges are a cheap way of accessorizing and finishing off your festival outfit. We have over 6000 button badge designs to choose from and they are currently only 85p each so surely something for everyone.
Anyway the sun is calling, Wimbledon is on the radio and the sun loungers are waiting so it’s time to head home early and relax with a chilled glass of Pimms 🙂
