Over the past 10 years, our school-leaver and teacher badges have become some of our most popular badges. We have expanded our range and ability to customise many of the designs. We have a wide selection of Class of badges that can be customised to any year you need. So if you are a teacher and your tutor group or class are graduating or leaver to start secondary school or college, then these make quirky keepsakes. As we all know, June is Pride month, and we have been busy behind the scenes making lots of LGBTQIA+ badges. They’re all so colourful and positive that it makes the Kool Badges workshop feel all positive and happy. We love that so many of our customers wear their rainbow pride badges to help spread awareness and shop support for the LGBTQIA+ community, it makes us so happy.
I thought I would share a few of the pride orders we have had over the past few months, so you can get an idea of the selection of badges we have in the shop. We have tried to be as inclusive as we can with our badges, but we do not know everything and always appreciate you keeping us informed and help us with any terminology we might be a little off with, or badges that might be out of date.
With Father’s Day fast approaching & we thought it was the perfect time to let you all know that we have updated the Koolbadges shop with lots of new Father’s Day Badges! We think our handmade badges are a great way to show your Dad just how much you love him. Our badges are 25mm in size and handmade in our UK workshop

I can’t believe it’s the 14th December already. This year has been a blast over here at Kool Badges. We have so many new & wonderful customers & even more of our regular returning customers. You guys have kept us really busy & it has been a joy making all of your badges in 2017.
Christmas 2017 has probably been our busiest to date for Christmas Badges. We normally sell a lot at this time of year to our regular customers, but we have had so many new customers this year ordering Christmas Badges that we have had to work 7 days a week in the workshop.
This year our most popular badges have been our I believe Christmas badges, inspired by Miracle on 34th Street and our father Christmas badges. When you have almost 500 Christmas badge designs to choose from its hard to pick favourites, but some of the badges in the orders below definitely rank as our favourite designs. It’s always fun when Christmas comes around and we get to make all of our super cute Xmas badges all over again.
We’ve also had loads of our regular school customers return this year. We work with loads of Teachers throughout the UK, supplying Christmas badges to hand out to students during the Christmas term & this year that has extended to teachers in Germany, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark and as far afield as Australia. We love sending out badges to schools & can only imagine the excitement kids feel when receiving a small gift from their teacher.
The Workshop is still in full swing, like Santa’s grotto & workshop we are working day & night to get your orders out to you. During the week we are aiming to dispatch all Christmas orders within 24 hours to ensure you get them for Christmas.
We will be closing the Workshop on the 21st December, so if you need badges for Christmas, be sure to order soon as the time is running out.

We wanted to write a quick post about our custom badge service. We have always offered custom badges alongside our own designs & these are becoming increasingly popular with all of our customers. We make hundreds of custom designed badges each week & some of the designs you guys send to us are absolutely amazing.
Ordering custom badges from us is really simple, if you have a design as a jpeg you can upload it directly to our custom badge page on the website. You can then select a quantity and checkout right away on the website. We will then take your design & use it to create your very own 25mm custom-made badges.
We also have a Photoshop template in psd format. You can use this if you have design experience & it allows you a little more control over design placement, bleed and quality. You can then save your psd file with all layers intact & upload it to the website. Kool badges then take your customised badge design and use it to create your very own customised badges.
If both of those methods seem a bit daunting, or if you don’t feel confident designing your badge yourself, you can always get in touch with us with your requirements and we can design something on your behalf.
If you upload your own design to the website, we will not list them publicly on the website. Your design is yours to do with as you please. Many people order custom badges for their business, for a club or group they belong to or for charity purposes. They are also great for goody bags. Many customers even resell their badges with a good margin to make a few ?Ǭ?Ǭ?Ǭ.
We make hundreds of custom designed badges every week so we are used to dealing with all sorts of designs. You will also find that the more badges you order of your own design, the cheaper they get, which is ideal for larger runs of custom badges.
As always, your badges will be lovingly hand-made in our Cornish workshop, and as we are still a small family business each order will be given that extra care & attention our customers have come to know & love. Well Easter seems to come round quicker every year, not that we’re complaining as we love to eat all the yummy Easter chocolate (especially those Lindt bunnies). So many of you return each year to buy your Easter badges from us & we thank you for your continued support. We hand make all our badges from our Cornish workshop & are always grateful when we see returning customers.
This year we have added quite a few new Easter Badge designs to the shop, and they’re already proving to be quite popular. There are lots of Eggs, Bunnies and cute Spring themed badges, and they make cute alternative handmade gifts to chocolate. They’re also great to hide in Easter Egg Hunts & for Party Bags.
We have been making badges for almost 10 years now and over that time we have made lots of badges from custom logo’s to St Patrick’s Day Badges, but some of our absolute favourites to make are Wedding Badges. In some small, handmade way, It makes us feel like we’re a small part of your big day.
Our Wedding badge section has almost 400 designs (we add new designs almost weekly), many of our wedding themed badges can be customised with names, dates and even locations, so the badges can be made quite personal & unique to your big day.
Small Business Saturday 2015 – Kool Badges
It’s the 7th December 2015, it’s a Saturday & all around the UK today it’s Small Business Saturday. The hope is that today, you will choose to shop with small businesses and support them in the run up to Christmas. So today, buy your coffee from an independent coffee shop, buy your lunch from a local bakery, deli or restaurant & buy your hand made presents & stocking fillers from Kool Badges Christmas Badges.
It gets harder & harder for small business to compete with large companies. We don’t have the money to float us through quiet periods like huge companies & we don’t have unlimited advertising budgets to take out glossy magazine adverts & TV spots.
The same applies online. eBay, Not on the High Street & Amazon all pay a fortune to put their products above ours & other small business using paid adwords ads. We,?Ǭthe manufacturer & retailer of our own products just can’t compete with paid advertising meaning many small business have to stop selling via their own website and sell via these huge sales platform, where the big retailer gets their cut. So today, support all small businesses when you buy something. It really does help us to keep the lights on over here at Kool Badges HQ.
We have a great range of Christmas badges, all hand made in our workshop & only available for sale through our website and a select few small retailers nationwide. We don’t sell our badges anywhere else, so please visit the website & place an order. Our badges are often copied all over the internet, but buying directly from us allows us to keep designing & making Kool Badges.
Buying from small businesses may not be as cheap as using a massive retailer, but all of the money we make is reinvested in the business & spent in the local economy. We don’t have our money hidden in the Cayman Islands avoiding tax. We pay everything we should, meaning sometimes we can’t compete on price with big retailers, but our customer service is always better & you can be sure our badges have been made by hand, with love, in the UK using locally sourced components and materials. We don’t outsource our manufacturing to China to save on costs. This means we always offer you the best price we can whilst making sure we can still afford to manufacture our badges in the UK. It’s the same for all Small businesses so keep that in mind when items are a little more expensive from Small Business, compared to the likes of Amazon.
