A Day in the Life of Koolbadges

Oh, my what a success the sale was, how do you all find out so fast that it’s on???? Oh, the power of the internet. I have lots to keep me busy whilst my husband does some work on his thesis. Keeps me from distracting him when he needs to concentrate.

We thought as the sale was only announced late on yesterday, we will keep it up & running until early evening today, gives people a chance to check their emails & pop on over to koolbadges.

We went to the local pub quiz last night, at the Seven Stars. We thought we would get out and about and meet some locals and see what it’s all about. It seems that the pub quiz is really popular & VERY hard. We did not win, but I am happy to say we were not last either. It was fantastic fun, we had real trouble coming up with a team name, so we ended up being called The Osmond’s! God knows why.

In the koolbadges workshop we have been beavering away, on a lot of custom orders. Seem like party season out there at the moment. We are getting asked to do a lot of party badges. Oh my, I had a super long sleep this morning. It was 9.40 before I got up, that’s really late for me. I am normally out of bed at 7.45 / 8am.

I had a lot of orders waiting to be cut out and made into badges. John really helped me out today. I cut, and he made them, then we both put the backs in. What a team, 🙂 With a lot of tea and coffee drinking done to get us through.

We wanted to get done quickly this morning as the sun was out, and it was warm outside, so we took ourselves off for a walk to explore our new neighbourhood. It’s a lovely place to live.

John and I took some time out this evening to meet up with one of our oldest & best friends (Munra). She was up from Cambridge visiting family in Chester and we only live 35 mins from there so it was an opportunity to pop over and spend some time with her. She has recently become a mummy to Ji-Sun who is half Korean and 100% gorgeous.

We met at a pub in Cheshire called the Stanley Arms, a great little family friendly pub on the canal. We had a good old catch up, Ji-Sun is getting big (6 weeks old). We all ate too much and sat there that long, our bums went numb. Ji-Sun was as good as gold! ... Continue Reading

So we have been in the new house for one week now, and we are slowly getting there. Our internet is all hooked up, and we are gradually getting all the rooms sorted.

It’s a much bigger house, than the one we have moved from. So all our furniture is spread out over 6 rooms, looks like we need to go shopping for some more. It’s a lovely house in a great neighbourhood, something we did not feel about where we lived before. We have friendly neighbours and family really close by.

Just to let you know I haven’t gone away, we are moving out tomorrow, and we are in the middle of major packing. So I will blog again when we get in the new house. EXCITING!

A couple of weeks ago we went to Newquay (Cornwall) to celebrate one of my best friends 29th Birthday (Emma). We were VERY lucky as we have perfect sunshine for the whole time. Blue skies and sunshine, simply amazing. Its a great part of the country, laid back and relaxing. Just what we all needed.

We camped in John & my 4-man tent, John was camp cook & made sure the kettle was always on. Em & Andy went to St Ives for the day to explore, whilst John & I took a walk of the coastal path around Newquay. We also discovered a really cute bar/restaurant right on the beach, where we all got drunk and watched the sunset. I am excited today as I have had a delivery of MOO cards. They are BRILLIANT. I love them (is that wrong?). I keep getting them out of their little box and looking at them and packing them away again …. Then getting them out & packing them away. Anyone else have MOO cards and love them? I chose a set from a really cute artist.

So all orders will receive one, I might have to order some more so I can keep a set!

John and I made a pact this morning, to have a lazy day. We have been doing so much packing and rushing around. It was time to take a minute to relax and catch up on some TV and reading. So John had a few NASA documentaries he has been looking forward to watching (he has a real obsession with all things space at the moment) … it must be a man thing. So whilst he watched those I read & snoozed on the couch, BLISS!
