St Patrick’s Day is always a great day – we love to get involved and pop to our local Irish Pub for a few cheeky?Ǭ†Guinness. I bet Dublin is amazing over St Patrick’s Day weekend.

After the rush of Christmas is out the way we gear up for a busy couple of months in Valentines Day, Mothers Day, St Patrick’s Day and of course Easter. We do badges for all occasions.
Easter is getting more popular but our favourite event to make badges for has to be St Patrick’s Day. It’s a really fun celebration and people upload some great custom badges to wear & we also sell a fair few designs too. So be sure to check them out.
Here are a few badges that have been made over the past few weeks.
We have been making Valentines badges for most of February and thought we’d show you some that have been sent out. We have a really great selection in our online store. Most of them are appropriate for any special occasion, when you want to tell someone that you love them. So if you are looking for slushy romantic badges then we may have what you’re looking for.
On Sunday 27th January Me (Vicki) & John from koolbadges headed down to Staffordshire to attend mini fair. Organised by the British mini club this is a massive get together of old & new minis, retailers, auto jumble and concourse cars. John has loved minis since he was 9 and my first car was a mini. John has restored/dismantled 4 classic minis and now runs a modern Mini Cooper, but this is the first event we have attended (with the exception of charity runs & meets).
The mini fair was great, so many cool cars including the tunnel clubman, found in the tunnels below long bridge and classed as the last mini to roll out of the historic plant. There where some great restoration projects and some nuts & bolts rebuilds that looked better than they ever did rolling of the production line. Also this years theme was the clubman, johns favourite style of mini and the first one he owned.
All in the day was great, the auto jumble was amazing and would have been great when we ran our old minis. Anyway enough writing about it, I know you all want to see them. Enjoy.
It’s always chaos starting a new year as an online retailer. The rush during the build up to Christmas is instantly followed by a dip in activity on the site. This is generally the time of year we, like so many other retailers, run a massive sale to help everyone out. We know money is tight after Christmas and we have to thank you all for the epic response to our 50p badge sale. We had so many orders placed during the sale and we have only just caught up with processing all of your orders.
2013 promises to be another busy year for us at koolbadges. We have a few weddings to attend which is a,way exciting, not to mention our trip to San Francisco. It’s nearly 7 years since we last went. What’s more its the city that gave us the idea to start making badges in the first places, so without San Francisco there may have been no Koolbadges. Lets hope that this trip gets the creative juices flowing again and who knows, we may come back with another great idea for all you lovely people.
We are also considering making some improvements in the workshop, from new printers to new & bigger badge machines. Plans are in place but don’t worry, we aren’t automating the process, badges will always be hand made.
We are also gearing up for valentines day & St Patrick’s day. They are always very busy periods in the workshop so hopefully we can get the jump on orders this year. Don’t forget to order with plenty of time, we always do our best to rush out orders, especially themed orders, but it helps us out no end if you place your order in plenty of time.
For most small handmade business’s Christmas is such a busy time of year – at koolbadges all our badges are made by hand so we take time over each order and work long into the nights fuelled by mince pies and tea. 2012 has been a really fab year for us here and we have had some of the nicest customers & we wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to all our new customers & also to our returning customers. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Lots of Halloween badge orders kept us busy in October & we are quickly heading towards Christmas. It’s crazy how fast it’s approaching. We are never organised for it here. I think it’s because we are so busy working in the months & weeks leading up to Xmas Day that it seems to catch us unawares every year.
So we have done a lot of Coffee drinking these past few weeks & trying to get out and enjoy the lovely Autumn weather. We love the changing of the?Ǭ†seasons. The beautiful Autumn colours. It’s always nice to get out and walk during this time of year. Hope you’re all enjoying this Autumn weather. Its our fave time of year for sure
