A Day in the Life of Koolbadges

We have had such a buy few weeks here. We have moved house and are finally getting?Ǭ†settled?Ǭ† So we have seen lots of flat pack furniture and trips to the tip these past few weeks. Its been hard work moving and keeping the badges open for business. We didn’t want to close the shop as Halloween is so popular and we get lots of you buying our Halloween badges.

We managed to do it somehow and we are finally all?Ǭ†settled?Ǭ†and the house and business are back to normall. Just in time for our Halloween rush and many of you are already buying Chrstmas badges. You are very organised!!

Here is some of what we have been up to lately.

We love making your Custom Badges – it’s exciting to see your designs and see the take shape as badges. We went to Amsterdam last year for a long weekend and loved the city. So we have just been back for our 13 year anniversary. We have a really lovely time and the weather was amazing. Have you been to Amsterdam? If so whats your?Ǭ†favourite?Ǭ†thing to do there. I love hiring a small boat and spending the day going up and down the canals. Amsterdam is beautiful from that view. You see so many hidden treasures.

We stayed again at The Manor Hotel Amsterdam and can highly recommend it. Its a lovely place to stay and its right by a tram stop which takes you into the centre, very easy.

 

Sorry for the lack of updated on the blog. We have been moving workshops again and are now back in Manchester. We’ve also secured a few more bulk orders for shops and business so thats so nice that people are buying handmade goods and are enjoying what we make. We love seeing people out and about wearing our badges! Makes us very happy.

We are still setting up our new space so the next day delivery option isn’t available at this time just so we can process the backlog of orders from the past few weeks. The Olympics has meant we’ve been really busy making flag badges from all over the world. You have been all been patriotic.

So a whole month has passed. How does that happen? We have had a busy month making Jubilee and Olympics badges – lots of you buying Union Jack badges and also making alot of of countries flags too. We have a fair old selection on the site. We are excited for the Olympics although we don’t have tickets to go and see anything we will be watching it on the TV. We are looking forward to the swimming and track events.

We have invested in better colour laser printers and have some lovely feedback from our customers about the vibrancy of their badges – so thank you for that. Its always nice to hear what you think.

We also went to Manchester at the end of May to see Guns and Roses as it was an anniversary gift for my hubby & it was a crazy good late evening. GnR didn’t come on stage until 11 and played?Ǭ†until?Ǭ†2.30am. I was so tired the next day but it was so worth it. Great concert.

I am loving all things red white and blue & Royal related as i said in my last post. It’s hard not too really with every shop having their own take on it. There are so many cute and fun products being released with union jacks on and the queen. From biscuits to beauty they are all getting in on the action!

Oh my whats happening to me, i seem to be on a Jubilee buying spree. I am not even a huge fan of the Royals. Not either way. But i can’t seem to walk past anything red, white & blue or jubilee related. Is this happening to you too?

I have been signed up to GlossyBox for 6 months now and thought i would say a little about it. For those of you that?Ǭ†aren’t?Ǭ†aware of what GlossyBox is, it a monthly subscription where you receive 5/6 high end beauty samples in a cute box. They are for you to test and if your impressed you can purchased the full size. Often you get quite good discount codes within the box for the the full size item. Last months box was a Harrods Special and was?Ǭ†pretty?Ǭ†amazing, next months box is meant to be another?Ǭ†extra?Ǭ†special one as its GlossyBox’s birthday. SO i am?Ǭ†excited?Ǭ†to get that one.

Not all the items in the boxes are sample size quite a few have been full size items & all the boxes I have?Ǭ†received?Ǭ†the ?Ǭ†products?Ǭ†have far exceeded the ?Ǭ£12 I paid. I love getting my box each month and seeing whats inside. It can be anything from nailcare, skincare, haircare, body products and of course makeup. It’s a great mixture.

The products are not always to everyones liking, but on the most part i think they do a great job in terms of?Ǭ†variety. I highly recommend GlossyBox for any beauty/product junkie. You pay monthly i pay via Paypal which is so handy and your able to cancel atany point.

Some of the brands that have?Ǭ†appeared?Ǭ†in my boxes have been, Burberry, Eyeko, Ojon, Orly and Caudalie – so a wide range of products and brands.

The boxes themselves are even cute and i know i am not alone in saving them for storing my nail polish or beauty products in. Its a little bit of fun and i feel its really great value for money. Here are a few snaps of some products from my boxes. Let me know if you sign up & how you find it.

I go between the Post Office, my office and the hospital all day everyday. My dad is making a good recovery (from a major Stroke) it’s slow by its going well. I am quite tired this week and have come down with a nasty head cold. Im trying to do a little mind over matter and work through it, but boy this crappy weather is not helping matters.

My dad is going in for some?Ǭ†surgery?Ǭ†tomorrow to replace the paart of his?Ǭ†skull?Ǭ†they removed to ease the swelling. I am not looking forward to that (as im sure he isn’t too).

One great thing that has happened this week is my most bestest greatest?Ǭ†loveliest?Ǭ†friends Emma & Andy have announced their engagement. There is a wedding to plan. Whoop Whoop. I am so thrilled for them. She is Emma of The Happy Rejects so pop over and check her out. She has an Etsy shop too

The badges have been busy and keeping my mind occupied too. I have also started another little hobby blog called Lets Talk Beauty about my love for all things beauty and product related.
