A Day in the Life of Koolbadges

My badge parts & paper were delivered yesterday & I have been badging like a trooper.

We were that busy over Christmas that I didn’t realise we were so low on stock. We have run out of badge parts & paper. So I am waiting on them being delivered today.

I don’t like waiting on deliveries, as they always seem to come right at the end of their designated time slot. I have a million and one things to do today, a major one being going to the post office! Oh, well, I guess I will use the time to read (I can’t make any badges)

Yes, the good news is that I am feeling 100% better, but the badge news is the inevitable has happened and John has caught the cold from hell 🙁 He is feeling lousy. So we have swapped roles. He is laid up in bed with a mountain of tissues & every cold remedy known to man, whilst I take over in the koolbadges workshop (I have missed crafting).

I have persuaded John (one might say forced him) to go to his Nan’s for Sunday lunch. It’s not to be missed. She simply cooks the most delicious roast. It will do him good to eat a hearty meal, plenty of veggies. ... Continue Reading

Still in bed & I still have the cold. But I shall not let this dampen my spirits. Well, my lovely husband ordered me a book and it came today. So I have had a welcomed distraction from feeling like a snot monster.

It’s giving me a lot of ideas on spending less & appreciating what I already have. In the current economic climate, I think it’s what many people are doing. Buying handmade goods and giving a lot more thought to where your items come from. I am off to read more. ... Continue Reading

I have so many ideas for badges, but I’m not feeling well, so it’s hard being out of action. John is being a super trooper and looking after my every need. Getting me hot drinks, tissues, books & cooking me yummy healthy food (still have an appetite. Weird).

Being laid up in bed also means that my viewing of the (so I have heard) GREAT Twilight movie is postponed!

Its here 2009! I thought it was so weird when it was the year 2000. Now we are already in 2009. CRAZY! (or is it just me?).

Well, I must wish all the koolbadges customers a very happy new year. I am feeling positive about the year ahead. John and I have lots to plan and look forward to. We are planning a 2-month trip around Scotland in the summer (sooooo looking forward to this). We are also moving to Cornwall in Sept/Oct. I have updated the shop today, with someTwlight inspired koolbadges for the release of the amazing film Twilight.

What a lovely year we have had (John and I). At the beginning of the year, I would never have thought it’s possible for me to give up my full-time job at the bank & be able to work from home with John. It was a big leap of faith, and it has paid off. We have managed to go from strength to strength with the badges & a few other projects we have been working on (top secret) and have had lots of time to visit family and friends!!!

Through koolbadges we have met some great people, and found many a new customer, so we would like to thank all our customers for picking us to make your badges. We have had a blast doing it. We are really looking forward to 2009, not least because we are moving again, this time we are hoping to settle. We are off to CORNWALL!! To realise one of our dreams to live and work by the sea. Just a wee reminder that there is still time to purchase your badges & have them in time for Xmas (UK only). We are busy but super efficient at the koolbadges workshop & ensuring that our badges are shipped on the day you buy them.

This week has been another busy one in the run-up to Christmas. Not just getting badges made, packaged & sent on their merry way. But I have been trying to do my Xmas shopping. I have managed to do most of it online from ETSY. Brilliant handmade gifts bought straight from the artist’s themselves. I highly recommend you have a look. There are hundreds of thousands of items.

So the koolbadges workshop has been full throttle. But we have been freezing cold as the boiler decided to pack in, my little hands have been so cold, we are waiting on the plumber fixing it this very morning.
